So Sorry... We had so much going on with Easter and new animals coming in and Kelly had to leave to New Jersey on a family matter...I forgot to advertise the movie night, hence we have not had enough response to show the movie and cook a lovely dinner for everyone so we will cancel tomorrows event. We will have "Dinner & a Movie" next month on 5-20-17...

Today was a day for our veterinarian....Harley was checked from one end to the other. He had his teeth floated (filed), his vaccinations and his sheath cleaned (very reluctantly)...double the trank shots to get him to comply...He was just being an "Arab" hehehe...So, we will worm Harley and all the other animals over the weekend and everyone should be good to go with a clean bill of health. Not doing the other tests till he settles in and we have him on a good feed program, then if he does not gain some weight we will test blood for further issues. He worked himself up into such a sweat that we had to take towels and dry him for over an hour. Dr. suggested we move him closer to the other horses so he can interact and chat... Dr. looked at the new pig for castration, talked about the knees on Fancy, looked at the odd horns on the goats, evaluated Jessa and said to leave her alone. Dr. will also come back this fall to castrate the llama and a couple small animals. All in all a good day at BARN BUDDIES RESCUE @ THE FARM.

AAAAND so it begins...it is only a few days past Easter and we are already getting the calls from those whose story it is that they found a baby chick or a baby duck and wish for us to take it off their hands...so sad to hear such amazing stories as to why they can no longer keep an animal that they probably paid for and have only had for a few days. Those little babies that survive the harsh and rough treatment of many tiny hands "loving" on them will hopefully find their way to us...Please contact us and we will take the baby chicks and ducks that need us; but, we will not be able to take in bunnies or rabbits. Please, keep and care for any rabbits that you have till they pass from old age. Do not turn them loose into the community and Do Not give them away for free...nothing good will happen to those poor little lives that are for free or dumped. We do not take roosters at this time as we have our limit. Call us if you have chicks or ducks that need a place to live out their lives, and be patient with me if I have a bit of an attitude when you call...I am so over breeding and selling animals that people do not intend to keep and love till their natural life is lived. Please give us a call or bring the babies by on Sat or Sun from 9 to 4...Thank You, s
